2018 Early January Plant Sale Report

2018 - Off to a flying start!

Husseys have got 2018 off to a flyer. 2017 saw the plant side of the business excel again after adding extra online auctions between the live auctions. The result was for the second year running selling over £2,000,000 worth of plant and machinery. The first week back saw the conclusion of the Christmas online sale with 430 plus bidders registered to bid and a near on total clearance. Prices being some of the strongest seen resulting in a contingent of chuffed vendors. The top of the sale was sold in situ from a yard in Cornwall realising £22,500 for a Phoenix Chipping Spreader, being early 90’s and making thousands beyond the vendor’s expectation.

The dearest looking lot sold was the CAT TH62 Telehandler on a 52 plate which stormed home at £14,000 and the ecstatic vendors have already booked in another for the next sale being live and online on January 25th.  The beauty of the online system is being able to sell direct overseas as opposed to the middle man exporting the machinery. Furthermore we’ve seen people who would normally stand together in a live or farm sale bid heartily on each other.

Plenty of middle range plant was selling to the large crowd of UK and overseas buyers, including the direct JCB 8018 at £8100, Takeuchi Micro Diggers to £5700 with others also over £5000.  Groundhog Welfare Units were looking well sold to £4400. The dumper trade reached £3400 for a 2005 1 Tonne Terex Hi Reach. Too many lots to mention up to £4000.

There was plenty of interest in the small section with rotavators & wacker plates being cashed for £400, chainsaws topped at £370 and a handful of generators at mid 300’s. Overall the large plant and machinery saw a clearance rate of 87% and near on 1000 small lots sold.

As well as in our yard, we can sell your assets from your premises, either with an onsite sale or we can include items into online sales. For more info on this please get in touch.   With demand outstripping supply when selling to such a wide audience more machinery of all classes is required and it's time for sellers to take advantage of Husseys' massive register of active purchasers.
