Husseys Plant Sales 2016
Husseys sold just shy of 11,000 lots of Plant and Machinery in 2016 turning over in excess of £2 million. As well as holding live sales we now hold regular sales solely online which have established with a regular contingent of overseas buyers meaning lorries regularly depart for Poland, Romania, Estonia, Ireland and Wales with pallets of smaller tools heading North and to the Midlands as well as staying in the neighbouring counties.
Onsite sales have been quieter than previous years with two Farm dispersal sales. The first in the spring on the foothills of Dartmoor offered a variety of Nine Tractors along with several lots of Creep Feeders, Hayracks, Ring Feeders, Hurdles, Troughs and other affiliated Farmyard Items and Implements. Topping the day at £8,400 was an R reg Case 4230 Loader Tractor with a John Deere 3040 at £4,500 and a well used Deutz DX85 at £4,000. The other Dispersal was at Idestone Farm, South Devon which saw two Tractors and a Variety of Implements topping the day at £2,700 was the Ford Tractor ripe for restoration. The Protech Post Banger got knocked down at £720!
The first solely Online Plant sale was conducted in March with a massive 1504 lots sold to a global audience. Topping the day was a 2008 Iveco Euro Cargo Lorry at £27,500 with another (57) Plate at £14,000. A Genie GTH Telehandler Raced away to £13,000 while a Merlo P34.7 sold for £11,000 other Telehandlers to £7600 for a CAT TH62. The pick of the Diggers was a 2013 JBC 8014 at £8000. On four occasions £4,500 was given for Bomag Rollers.
June saw our next Online sale with 593 lots sold to £14,750 for a (56) Reg JCB Loadall with a Manitou 629-120 at £7,700. Diggers got to £6,200 for a Hitachi EX40. The surprise of the sale in the Agricultural lines was a John Deere 359 Conventional Baler which sold for £5,800 over double the vendor’s expectations. A John Deere Gator bought plenty of interest parting for £5,000. An Iseki Ride On Mower bought £3,400 and a Polaris Quad raced away to £1,700.
Working in alternate months with our Live sale the next online sale was due in August and didn’t disappoint with 515 lots sold the headliner was a JCB 514 Telehandler selling for £10,600 while a CAT TH62 made £8,700. A smart ex authority KHUN Hedge Trimmer raised £3,700 and a McConnell PA5600 to £3,000. The smaller machinery and power tools found great interest with several lots being palleted up and sent to the midlands.
October saw the final online sale with a bumper entry selling 719 lots. No meaty lumps to report £5,000 was given for an Ex Council Kubota F368 Ride on Mower, Kawasaki Mules to £4,500 and a Stump Grinder got to £1,240.
Along with the Online Sales the regular live sales have been running at a great success with the introduction of personnel from I-Bidder in the yard appealing to the wider audience and to obtain the best possible price. The year kicked off in January with 1255 lots selling from an entry of over 1500. The day’s highlights were a JCB JS130 that sold for £13,000 7 Tractors sold to a top of £12,500 with a JCB 8080 close on its tail at £11,300. A 51 plate Scania Lorry made £10,000.
May proved productive for all with a massive 1504 lots being cashed in. The excitement started in the HGV line with a MESTO Rock Crusher reaching £56,500 while a (13) Reg DAF 55220 Tipper claimed £56,000. A Council entered Iveco 150E22 Sweeper made £23,250. Other Iveco Vehicles to £11,000. Best diggers to £15,000 for a Takeuchi TB175, Terex Hi-Lift Dumpers to £4,800, Ride on Mowers to £4000 for a Kubota and an Iseki Compact Tractors to £3,000.
Julys annual live sale kicked on from May with another packed yard seeing 1561 lots sell. £40,000 was given for a Power Screen Tracked Screener. An accident damaged John Deere 6105 Loader Tractor on a (12) plate parted for £32,000! Iveco Lorries once again attracting heavy money with £28,000 given for a Sweeper. Diggers saw a top of £16,000 for a JCB 3CX with the pick of the Tractors to £8,000 for an aged Renault. Compact Tractors sold to £5,000 twice for John Deere and New Holland’s. A 2 Ton Swivel Skip Dumper made £5,150 and an Iseki SG19 Ride on Mower sold well for £4000. Smaller lots sold to a strong demand with Wacker Plates at £825 twice.
The September Sale sold 1286 lots with the headliner being a Hinowa Tracked Personnel lift reaching £38,000. An Ex Authority CAT Th62 Telehandler reached £7,200 while a Barford 10 Ton Dumper sold for £6,800. A clean example of a John Deere Gator made £5,800 and a Ford 4610 Tractor made £4,650. Groundhog Welfare Units made £4,600. A Non Running Massey Compact Tractor made £2000.
To conclude the years trading in Novembers live sale another bumper entry of mainly smaller machinery saw 1168 lots sell. The day’s best was a 2014 Takeuchi TB216 Minidigger selling for £10,500. Telehandlers reached £9,800 for a Merlo P32 and a Massey 4wd Tractor on an M reg made £8,900. 2013 JCB 8014 Minidigger’s sold to an Internet buyer from Poland for £7250 twice. A company entered Timber Wolf Chipper levelled at £5,000. Ride on Mowers met firm interest with Kubota and Stiga’s reaching £4,000. An aged 2wd Ford 3910H Tractor made £3750.
