February Plant Auction Report
Husseys are leading the way and spreading the happiness in the field in which they specialise during what’s commonly known as 'kipper season'. The plant side of the business has excelled with the first two months of the year selling £862,000 worth of plant and farm machinery, nearly half of what we would expect to turn over annually. A centre record turnover for January was seen at £553,000 this was backed up in February with the online machinery sale selling £309,000. Husseys attracted a strong contingent of buyers as per usual with just shy of 500 active with several moving plant to areas handy to the docks ready for export as well as end users and traders joining in.
The excitement started with a nucleus of council entered tractors being a 2012 John Deere 6330 selling for £27,000 to Yorkshire. A 2002 Massey 4345 totalled a whopping £16,000 and a 2006 John Deere 6230 made £16,200. There was a utility entered L reg Renault Loader Tractor which attracted much interest and ended at £8400. Other Tractors saw a Trade entered 2001 Massey 4345 with loader reach £12,800, a Massey 6170 selling for £8800 and a 6140 Massey got knocked down for £8400. Other tractors saw a Massey Compact Tractor at £1700 with Kubota’s at £1500, £1000 & £900. An Aged David Brown made £1000.
Excavators saw two Takeuchi TB180 Machines cashed in the first being a 2012 from a company at £18,500 and a 2008 with 7000 hrs for £12,200. Another excellent result was achieved for a JCB wheeled digger a 2CX this time which went for over double the reserve at £8600. The reduction sale of Bomag BW80 Twin Drum Rollers went swimmingly with a total clearance achieving £6800 - £7700. This resulted in an early entry of another 64 reg for next time!
The ride on mower department was headed by Council entered Ransomes Cabbed mowers of 2013 all three got cashed for £5200 to the same end user. There was another Ransomes Ride On this time a HR300 with out the cab that made £3100. More domestic machines to £840 for a Cub Cadet with a Countax at £700. The UTV & Quad trade was strong again with a John Deere Gator being bid to £5300, a 2006 Kubota sold locally for £2300. A Honda TRX250 Quad at £100 & a Kawasaki 2wd Quad exchanged for £1060
The plant was followed heavily again with an Atlas Copco Road Compressor reaching £3000 and a JCB Track Barrow selling for £2400. Terex Pedestrian Rollers out in force once again with the pick making £1000 with others generally £5-600. Generating plenty of bids were the SDMO 165 & 90 KVA Generators which ended on £5600 & £4700.
In the vehicle lines the top bid went to a 2012 DAF Plant lorry at £13,400 which the vendor thought more of. There was two Daf Cement mixer lorries which sold for £6200 & £6100. A trade entered Toyota Hilux 2008 with 100k sold to a neighbouring county for £5900 plus Vat.
A Baretto Rotavator was top of the small tools in the shed selling for £600. A Pramac Generator made £600. Wacker plates to £520 £500 & £480 Chainsaws to £290 for an aged Stihl and a long Reach Stihl Chainsaws reached £300 and a Panasonic TV from a house clearance made an impressive £145. A welder made the pilgrimage to Croatia to the tune of £120.
This sale saw the incorporation of a garage sale that was in the hands of the receivers which was sold in situ. Highlights include a Boston 4 Post MOT Ramp which sold for £1620, A Roll Air Compressor at £1080. A 2 Post 4.5 Ton Bendpak Ramp made £520 a priced matched by two Snap-On diagnostic readers. A Hoffmann Tyre Changer levelled out at £500 and a Snap-On Plasma Cutter at £460 with many useful tools and machines finding new homes. The sale was concluded when the hammer struck the anvil at £115!
